Soooo ready for spring
Winter was brutal. I am sure I'm like the rest of you when I say I am ready for spring and warm weather. With the change in weather and longer days comes spring cleaning. And with spring cleaning should come a spring refresh of your home. Time to ditch that dark and dry decor and embrace spring by switching things up a bit for a more fun and light-hearted feel. Here is four simple ways to refresh your home for Spring.
1. Candles- I love candles and how the room smells can have just as big as an impact on a room as a painting on the wall. I am a big fan of the Bath and Body Works candles. They are relatively inexpensive and as strong enough to fill the entire house with refreshing scents. I am currently enjoying the Beautiful Day scent that is rich with warm floral notes and apples.
2. Throw pillows- This is a very inexpensive way to refresh a tired space. This season I am opting for pillows lighter in colors and softer details than geometric patterns. I found this wonderful pillow that I am going to incorporate into my living room.
3. Artwork- I find it amazing how adding or even rotating out a piece can dramatically change a space. Don’t have it in the budget for a brand new piece of art, no worries! You can make your own! There are tons of DIY resources out there to make wonderful painting for a fraction of the cost of stores. I love this site because you don’t have to Van Gogh to make them
4. Decorative items- I like to rotate these through my house often. That vase that seemed so tired in the office now has new life as it rests on the mantel in the living room. Find items that simply won't work anywhere else in your house? No problem! Add it to your cache for later and I'll tell you next week what to do with them.
Until next time!
Happy Spring!
